Matias, an Argentine filmmaker in his forties, struggles to complete a movie inspired by his elusive first love to Alexander, a Swedish friend he met at the United World College in the 90’s. Shot in the beautiful locales of Duino in Italy and co-directed by Juan Pablo Di Pace & Andres Pepe Estrada, DUINO explores how we romanticize memories which sometimes can blind our path to love in the present.

“Tender, moving, full of declarations of love… tear-wearing… received with roaring applause… an experiment in meta-cinema.”

THE HOLLYWOOD REPORTER, Italy

“Memories, thoughts, awareness, missed opportunities. And again, a film that moves, DUINO is recall, presence, memory and pain. That place is always there, even when its characters no longer physically inhabit it. A Shining example of a movie that moves you.”
